This privacy notice contains information about how Kaski Law Ltd (“Kaski Law”) collects, stores, and protects your personal data. Kaski Law processes personal data in accordance with this privacy notice and applicable legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679; “GDPR”) and applicable national data protection laws in Finland.

In connection with its business activities, Kaski Law processes personal data for a wide variety of purposes. Below is described the reasons that Kaski Law needs to process various kinds of personal data for:
- Client register – data in Kaski Law’s client register is processed to manage and develop client relationships;
- Assignments – information relevant for the handling of client assignments, which depending on the nature of the assignment, may include personal data relating to the client, the client’s family members or other beneficiaries, employees, business partners and/or counterparties, and special categories of data to the extent necessary for the handling of the assignment;
- KYC/AML – information that Kaski Law is required to collect due to obligations relating to know-your client and anti-money laundering procedures;
- Interest groups – Kaski Law processes data on interest groups, i.e. potential clients, students, representatives of student and professional organisations and parties working in the legal services industry;
- Website – Kaski Law processes website visitor data to develop and ensure that Kaski Law’s website is functioning property.
Kaski Law keeps your data for as long as necessary for Kaski Law’s operations and as required by the law. The periods vary greatly from one type of processing to another.
Who does Kaski Law Transfer Your Data To?
Kaski Law does not regularly transfer personal data outside the EEA. However, Kaski Law may need to transfer your information from a location within the EU/EEA. Kaski Law will not disclose personal data to any third parties unless required to do so under applicable laws, to prepare for legal proceedings or defend a claim, or to perform services for our clients.
However, your personal data may be transferred to and processed by third-party providers which perform services for Kaski Law (data processors) to enable these companies to perform the services requested by Kaski Law.
Only personal data that is necessary to fulfill the purposes stated above will be provided to these companies. All third-party providers must follow Kaski Law’s instructions and applicable data processor agreements and any other agreements that are in place between Kaski Law and its third-party providers, and must implement appropriate technical and organizational measures for the protection of the personal data.
Kaski Law ensures that confidentiality is maintained in all circumstances. We use various technical and security measures to seek to ensure a sufficient level of data security.

Your Rights
- Right to object – you have the right based on your particular situation to object to profiling and other processing in situations where we process your personal data based on our legitimate interests;

- Right of access to data – you have the right to review what data we have collected on you;
- Right to request rectification, erasure or restriction of processing of personal data – you have the right to request that we rectify erroneous data on you. You can also request that we erase certain data on you or request that processing be restricted on the grounds provided by law;
- Right to data portability – to the extent that you have provided data to us that is processed based on your consent, you are entitled to obtain such data primarily in a machine-readable format and are entitled to transfer such data to another data controller;
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority – you are entitled to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority if you are of the opinion that we have not complied with the data protection regulations
